Things to Do Near Oishi Park
What to do around Oishi Park: the lakeside path and the boat, the Panoramic Ropeway, Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba, Oshino Hakkai and the Chureito Pagoda.
Round Oishi Park, the Fuji Five Lakes give you a day’s worth without leaving the mountain’s north side: the lakeside path and a boat across Lake Kawaguchi, the Panoramic Ropeway above the east shore, the thatched houses of Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba by Lake Sai, the spring ponds of Oshino Hakkai, and the Chureito Pagoda in Arakurayama Sengen Park. The day tours from Tokyo string four of them together with the park; on your own, the circuit buses from Kawaguchiko Station reach them.

The lakeside path and the boat
At the park itself, the flower path runs for about 350 m along the shore of Lake Kawaguchi, and the path along the water carries on beyond it. Since 17 July 2026 the Oishi Park Line boat has crossed the lake between the park and Funatsu Pier on the south shore, about 15 minutes, 1,000 yen one way for adults (Fuji Gokokisen), which turns the visit into a loop: bus one way, boat the other. The lake boats are closed on Tuesdays 1, 8, 15 and 22 December 2026 and on Tuesdays 19 and 26 January 2027. The Natural Living Center stands at the park, and the Red Line bus also stops at Herb Hall on its way round the north shore.
The Panoramic Ropeway
The Mt Fuji Panoramic Ropeway climbs from the eastern shore of Lake Kawaguchi to a viewpoint above the lake, and on a clear day you look across the water to Mt Fuji from above. The Tokyo: Mt Fuji, Tenjoyama Ropeway & Oishi Park & Chureito Pagoda (Japan Vision Tour) day includes the ropeway ride while a promotion lasts, with 45 minutes at Oishi Park. The ropeway closes for its annual inspection from 7 to 18 December 2026, and on those dates that tour goes to Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba instead.

Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba
A reconstructed village of thatched houses by Lake Sai, the next lake west, kept up for its traditional crafts, with Mt Fuji behind the roofs on a clear day. Japan Visionary Tour’s day spends an hour here, and the Green Line bus from Kawaguchiko Station runs out to Lake Sai.
Oshino Hakkai
Eight ponds fed by springs from Mt Fuji, in the village of Oshino between Lake Kawaguchi and Lake Yamanaka, so clear you can see the bottom. It is one of the places listed with Mt Fuji as a World Heritage site. Most day tours give it about an hour, and there is food to buy in the lanes round the ponds.
Arakurayama Sengen Park
The park above Fujiyoshida with the Chureito Pagoda, a five-storey pagoda reached by a long flight of steps, and Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine at the foot of the hill. From the top, the pagoda and Mt Fuji line up in one frame. Some day tours, JRT Group's among them, also stop in the street below at the Hikawa Clock Shop, where the road runs straight towards the mountain.
All of them in one day from Tokyo
Four of these places, plus Lake Kawaguchi, are the stops of Japan Visionary Tour’s Tokyo: Mt Fuji & Oishi Park & Lake Kawaguchi & Oshino Hakkai, from $49 on promotion, usually $82 (checked November 2026): an hour at Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba, 20 minutes each at Lake Kawaguchi and Oishi Park, an hour at Oshino Hakkai, and about an hour at Arakurayama Sengen Park with the shrine and the pagoda. It leaves Tokyo Station at 8:00 am and Shinjuku at 8:30 am, and lunch is not included unless you book a lunch-set option.

If you are staying at the lake, see how to get to Oishi Park for the bus passes and the boat.
